The 16 Most Painful College Football Teams To Be A Fan Of (3:34)

Hollywood’s most famous Texas Longhorns fan is at the Cotton Bowl today to see his favorite team in the Red River Showdown.

Ahead of the start of today’s big Texas-Oklahoma game, Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey was on the field at the Cotton Bowl wearing a cowboy hat. ESPN made sure to highlight his appearance whenever he was on screen.

“Alright, alright Matthew McConaughey is ready at the Cotton Bowl!” ESPN SportsCenter posted.

Fans always love seeing the legendary star of such films as Interstellar, Dallas Buyers Club and True Detective on the football field:

“Having McConaughey on your side is a huge flex,” one user remarked.

“Matthew McConaughey at the Cotton Bowl? Get ready for some deep thoughts between touchdowns,” wrote another.

“ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT,” a third wrote, using McConaughey’s signature catchphrase.

McConaughey has made his presence known at numerous Longhorns games through the years, even appearing on College GameDay on occasion to represent his team.

The No. 1 Longhorns are in the middle of a surprisingly close game with the No. 18 Sooners. Oklahoma held the Longhorns scoreless in the first quarter, taking a 3-0 lead off two field goal attempts.

Texas entered the game as 14-point favorites and are the only remaining undefeated team in the SEC following Alabama’s stunning loss to Vanderbilt last week.
