It’s opening weekend’s most anticipated face-off
The Texas Longhorns will travel to Columbus in Week 1 to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ohio State, the reigning College Football Playoff National Champions, knocked Texas out of the bracket in the semifinals last season before the Buckeyes beat Notre Dame to win it all.
However, both Texas and Ohio State will meet this year with new starting quarterbacks. For Texas, redshirt sophomore Arch Manning replaced former three-year starter Quinn Ewers, who was selected in the seventh round of last spring NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. For Ohio State… well, we’re not quite sure yet, as frontrunners redshirt sophomore Julian Sayin and junior Lincoln Kienholz compete to replace Will Howard, a former Kansas State starter before he joined OSU last year, and who went to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round.
Beyond the quarterbacks, Texas saw 11 additional players selected in the NFL Draft.
Ohio State saw 13 additional players hear their name called.
