Join Ben, Jose, and Nathan for our live video podcast tonight at 9 PM Central to talk the big three points for FC Dallas against the lowly Portland Timbers.
From 1 point in the first two games of the season to an emphatic blowout win at home, FC Dallas showed serious life and improvement last Saturday. Jader Obrian, Dante Sealy, Bressan, and Andres Ricaurte all got off the mark for Dallas this season. In particular, it was a euphoric moment when Dante scored his first senior goal with FCD. What a day for the youngster.
Tonight, Ben, Jose, and myself will go live and break down the result, what we liked, what gives us hope, and what still needs work. We’ll do a hype and hold on Dante Sealy, discussing whether or not Dante is going to be a deadly super sub down the stretch. We’ll also talk through how the team handles the absence of Bressan in the coming couple of weeks and what Schon’s arrival means for the left wing position. So much fodder for conversation!
Here are a few other fun bits:
- Don’t you love Ryan Hollingshead’s gamesmanship to punk Portland Head Coach Savese? Ryan is a high character dude, so you got to be particularly annoying to get under Ryan’s skin. Hollingshead said it got the time fired up, which is something you love to see as this squad continues to gel.
- Sticking with Hollingshead, isn’t he the best at left back? The back line is still in a bit of flux as Eddie Munjoma gets more minutes at right back and Johnny Nelson rounds into form. I definitely prefer Hollingshead at left.
- Paxton Pomykal is getting stronger. Every game he looks like the play is slowing down a bit and he is starting to get his legs under him. It’s exciting to see.
- Phelipe got his first start in goal of the season, and he showed well. Hopefully, he can build more confidence in the coming weeks while Jimmy Maurer recuperates.
