The loan could be for two years.

Update 8/11/21 2:00 pm – FC Dallas has made this official. While loaning Sealy to PSV through June 2023, the club also extended Sealy’s contract through the 2024 season with club options for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. PSV also has an option to buy Sealy’s contract.

Early this summer when MLS and FC Dallas had a break in the schedule, Homegrown forward Dante Sealy took the chance to go to Europe to train with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven. It appears that the training session was more than a mere introduction.

A new report from Tom Bogert at MLSSoccer.com suggests that a deal is close to being done that will send Sealy back to PSV on a two-year loan as well as discusses what the next steps might be once he is there.

Per reports out of the Netherlands from Eindhovens Dagblad and others, Sealy would join the club’s second team, Jong PSV, which plays in the Dutch second tier.

The 18-year old has worked his way up from the club’s academy, to signing an HGP deal with the team. He spent most of his 2019 season with North Texas SC in the USL League One as they went on to capture a league title in that season. So far in 2021, he’s found his way to the FC Dallas bench several times, scoring one goal against Portland back in May.

As the report from Bogert discusses, Sealy was also one of several FC Dallas players to go to Bayern Munich this past winter for a training stint. That one has yielded some good returns already for FC Dallas and the Homegrowns that went. Ricardo Pepi is the team’s leading scorer, Justin Che has found some minutes as a starting right back while flirting with a transfer to Munich, Brandon Servania and Thomas Roberts have gotten loans to clubs in Austria this year as well.

What do you all make of Sealy getting a chance to go on loan to the Dutch leagues? Are you excited to see another HGP make his mark in Europe or more disappointed that FCD isn’t able to find a way to keep him here? Let us know what you think below.
