Copa Tejas is here for FC Dallas as they play host to Austin FC for the first time in MLS play. The two sides met in the preseason
Both sides are coming off midweek games. Austin FC ended a three-match goalless run with a 3-2 win over Houston while FC Dallas picked up a rare draw in Seattle.
FC Dallas notes:
Key player for FC Dallas – Paxton Pomykal – The young attacker has been pretty vocal in the past about the rivalry with Houston and what it means for him. I’d love to see him bring that same intensity here on Saturday night to this game with Austin.
Fortress Frisco – FC Dallas has lost only one of its last 31 home matches dating back to May 2019 (W17 D13), though that one defeat came to expansion Nashville SC last August. Dallas is unbeaten in 17 straight at home since that defeat (W9 D8), tied for the second-longest home unbeaten run in club history behind a 21 game run from August 2015 to September 2016 (including playoffs).
