FC Dallas heads to New Jersey for the lone road trip against an Eastern Conference team this season as they take on New York City FC tonight.
Last year these two sides were going to square off in the third week of the regular season but the coronavirus pandemic canceled that game and many others following it.
Both sides are coming into this game on a bit of a different path. NYCFC picked up a loss over the weekend against Supporter Shield leader New England, while FC Dallas had to come from behind to tie San Jose.
FC Dallas notes:
Key player for FC Dallas – Ricardo Pepi – Until he cools off again, the main guy for FC Dallas to go to in this one has to continue to be El Tren.
All-time against NYCFC – This will be the sixth all-time meeting between New York City FC and FC Dallas, with each team winning once at home and drawing the other three meetings. NYCFC is unbeaten in four straight (W1 D3) after Dallas won the first-ever meeting between the teams, 2-1, in September 2015.
