FC Dallas will have a very big impact on this year’s World Cup roster in Qatar.
The World Cup is nearly upon us as the United States Men’s National Team has revealed its roster for the tournament.
FC Dallas forward Jesus Ferreira leads the 26-man roster called in by Gregg Berhalter. The Dallas Homegrown joins a slew of former FC Dallas academy players and senior team players on the roster, including Walker Zimmerman, Kellyn Acosta, and Weston McKennie.
Ferreira earns his fifth call-up of 2022 and ninth overall since becoming a U.S. citizen on Dec. 16, 2019. He made his USMNT senior team debut in the 1-0 win against Costa Rica on Feb. 1, 2020. He has scored seven goals and recorded four assists for the Stars and Stripes in 15 appearances. He is also just the fifth player in USMNT history to score four goals in a match against Grenada on June 10, 2022.
After the USA became the youngest nation to qualify for Qatar 2022 this spring, 25 of 26 players have been selected for their first World Cup roster and will aim to make their global debut.
Just missing out on the roster is Paul Arriola, who picked up an injury in a recent training camp for MLS-based players for the USMNT. The same goes for former FCD defender Chris Richards.
