BTB acquires a free agent.
Ed Note: As the Cowboys gear up for the 2021 season, so are we here at BTB. Today we’re adding a free agent to our roster to help us cover the upcoming season. His name is Darreck Kirby and we’re very excited to have him here. Help us welcome him aboard! — Dave Halprin
Hello, Cowboys Nation! My name is Darreck Kirby, and I’ve been a Dallas Cowboys fan since the 2001 season. As you might imagine, I am quite starved for that sixth Lombardi, having never witnessed a Cowboys Super Bowl season for myself.
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a journalism major at the University of North Texas and have been covering the Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks in some form or fashion since 2013. Along the way, I’ve written for several different blogs, including ClutchPoints, Dallas Sports Fanatic, and my own site, The Dallas Prospect. I’ve also covered Texas high school football —and volleyball— for local publications like the Denton Record-Chronicle along the way.
I’m thrilled to join the incredible team here at Blogging The Boys and SB Nation. These guys really are the gold standard among the sea of Cowboys-related blogs out there. With graduation just a few months away, I knew I wanted to start out on the right foot with my sports journalism career, and, to me, there was no better place to do so than right here.
In addition to writing for the site, I’ll also be contributing to the Blogging The Boys podcast and YouTube channel!
Looking forward to getting started and seeing CeeDee Lamb notch 1,500 yards this season on the way to an NFC title game appearance!
