Breaking: Depleting Saints Could Trade Future Hall of Famer – 5 Potential Suitors

May 25, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

Despite taking a pay cut this offseason, the New Orleans Saints could still trade defensive end Cameron Jordan during the 2025 regular season. According to Bleacher Report, since the Saints are not in a position to win ballgames, it should be an evaluation year for them, which means they should trade Jordan to a contender. Earlier this offseason, the pass-rusher stated his desire to stay in New Orleans since he hasn’t been anywhere else in his 13 years in the league. However, he’s not counting out the possibility of moving elsewhere, and that it would be up to the Saints to make that decision.

Originally selected in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, the former California product became one of the best defensive pass-rushers for the Saints and has become a legend that the Saints can’t afford to lose. Unfortunately, the team doesn’t want to hold him back from a potential Super Bowl, and so it might be the right thing to do to send him to a potential contender that needs more bolstering in their trenches unit. Following Derek Carr’s retirement and the hiring of new head coach Kellen Moore, the Saints are back at the beginning than where they wanted to be. It’s unclear where he would go, but these five teams could put the eight-time Pro Bowler in the best spot before he hangs up his cleats.

Breaking: Depleting Saints Could Trade Future Hall of Famer Cameron Jordan – 5 Potential Suitors

Potential Destinations

Baltimore Ravens

Following Michael Pierce’s retirement, the Baltimore Ravens need another trenches guy to solidify the defensive front. Nnamdi Mdubuike is one of the league’s best defensive ends, but he needs help to bolster this unit. While they lost Malik Harrison and they have a depleted Linebacker unit, they could use another defensive powerhouse like Jordan, who has experience to turn this defense from good to great.

Kansas City Chiefs

Meanwhile, the Chiefs brought back Mike Danna, but there’s no promise that he will be the same. Felix Anudike-Uzomah has been a disappointment so far, and someone like Jordan could streamline the defensive front. The team is set on George Karlaftis and Charles Omenihu on the other defensive end of the trenches. This means Jordan could join on a rotational basis to help get revenge in the Super Bowl.

Washington Commanders

The Commanders are in the best position in their offensive unit with Jayden Daniels leading the pack. Now, it’s time for the defense to replicate what they’ve been doing. While they lose Dante Fowler Jr. to the Cowboys, they could easily upgrade the unit with a reliable veteran. They have the cap space to facilitate a trade, and it shouldn’t be surprising if Jordan wants to join the Commanders for a team that has a bright future to win a Super Bowl sooner rather than later.

Dallas Cowboys

Despite drafting Donovan Ezeiruaku, the Cowboys still need a long-term defensive end who could eventually take over even after signing Fowler back. He’s only on a one-year deal, and Jordan coming into this unit could buy them more time for Ezeiruaku to develop. The Cowboys hope to have Micah Parsons back without any contract distractions, so imagine him and Jordan on one team, making the opposing offenses a rude awakening.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers have one of the worst defensive ends in the league. Last season, the team had one of the best defenders in Poona Ford. However, they lost him this free agency, but brought back Teair Tart. Cameron Jordan is a way better defensive end than Da’Shawn Hand, and the Chargers could make it to the AFC Championship Game with this experienced veteran.
