With Week 5 around the corner, there are several teams across the league keeping tabs on trade candidate Riq Woolen this 2025 regular season. According to multiple reports, NFL teams are keeping an eye on cornerback Woolen, as he may become available for a trade. Originally selected in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the former UTSA product’s days as a Seattle Seahawk are probably numbered, as he is in his last year of his rookie deal. With Devon Witherspoon and other emerging cornerbacks like Josh Jobe stepping up in the unit, this will likely decrease his playing time with the Seahawks.
It’s easy to see why the 3-1 Seahawks could look to trade him since the team is still very much alive in the postseason race and is probably no longer a rebuilding team. Quarterback Sam Darnold is trying to ascend this offense and bring them to the playoffs, so what they could do is trade Woolen for another player to strengthen the passing attack. It’ll be interesting to see where Woolen goes either way, since the former Pro Bowler has been a noticeable contributor down the stretch of the field, leading the league in interceptions during his rookie campaign. However, he hasn’t been the same since that season, but many teams still believe has a lot of potential but would need a change of scenery, and these rosters could be the ones to pursue him.

Potential Destinations
Dallas Cowboys
After completing their recent game against the Packers in a tie, there is still a lot of work for the Dallas Cowboys to do. DaRon Bland is back from his injury, but the Cowboys are limiting him to ensure that he can play 100% of the snaps on every drive. This meant that Reddy Steward had a chance to show a couple of flashes, but none of them were enough to turn the ball over. Trevon Diggs is finally showing signs of life, but the Cowboys realistically still need help down the stretch of their NFL schedule.
While they did sign Corey Ballentine to their practice squad in their recent cornerback move, they must get a potential starter who can help Diggs and Bland. Woolen won’t get most of the snaps, but he could provide some insurance relief alongside Kaiir Elam.
Baltimore Ravens
Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens may not have a choice, as they’re 1-3. They must do something to wake up this entire team, and that should begin with the secondary unit that couldn’t contain Patrick Mahomes in their recent matchup. Lamar Jackson and the offense didn’t have a great day either, but it doesn’t mean the defensive secondary should give up huge moments. Since Jackson could miss several games this season, they must do something big on defense to give them an edge for later games.
The Ravens have one of the deepest cornerback units, but Woolen could find his role to help Chidobe Awuzie, who is already behind Nate Wiggins, Marlon Humphrey and Jaire Alexander.
Philadelphia Eagles
However, the Philadelphia Eagles are still looking for another cornerback through a trade. Injuries are continuing to mount for the secondary group, so they must find a replacement. Despite trading for Jakorian Bennett last month, he is now sidelined with an injury, and now the Eagles have to find a capable cornerback to fill the shoes to help Kelee Ringo behind Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.
