Breaking: Panthers Could Target All-Pro After Devastating Injury

June 6, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

After the latest Tommy Tremble injury, the Carolina Panthers could target tight end Mark Andrews in a potential trade. According to reports, head coach Dave Canales expects Tremble to be out for a while, which is a huge blow to the team’s pass offense after giving him a three-year deal. The Panthers are already weak in the tight end department, and Ja’Tavion Sanders is the only notable player in that unit. It hurts them for the longevity of the team, especially for quarterback Bryce Young, who is looking to have a huge turnaround this upcoming season.

Even though Tremble will reportedly be back in time for the first week of the NFL Preseason, the Panthers can’t afford to risk it and put him back out there quickly. Andrews would be a better player in this situation as the Ravens’ All-Pro continues to be in several trade rumors this offseason. Originally selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the former three-time Pro Bowler had a down season last year after losing his starting job to Isaiah Likely. Since Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta continues to tease an Andrews and the Panthers are in a desperate situation, they could come together on a deal that both probably won’t turn down.

Andrews doesn’t need to be a modern-day Greg Olsen, but he’s more of a capable upgrade over Sanders, who isn’t ready for full-time duties. The tight end position has been the weakest for the Panthers since 2019, and they need some type of relief. Since Andrews continues to be in several conversations, don’t be surprised if these other four teams consider him before the 2025 regular season.

Breaking: Panthers Could Target All-Pro Mark Andrews After Devastating Injury – 4 Teams Could Intervene

Possible Destinations

Washington Commanders

Quarterback Jayden Daniels and this offense haven’t failed to bring out the best in a veteran. An example of that is Zach Ertz, who is returning on a one-year deal to finish the job and hopefully put this team in the Super Bowl. However, just like Andrews, he’s getting up there in age. However, he would be worth the investment for at least one more contract if Ertz decides to hang up his cleats after this season.

Dallas Cowboys

The most unnoticable lack in the Dallas Cowboys offense is the tight end position. Jake Ferguson is coming off his worst season last year and hopes to turn the page. However, the depth behind him doesn’t help Dak Prescott and an already stellar wide receiver room, to make much of anything. Luke Schoonmaker hasn’t done anything to impress, and an Andrews trade could make Prescott look like one of the most dangerous arm passers in the NFC.

Los Angeles Chargers

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers need more of a dynamic playmaker than what they have on their roster. The team signed Tyler Conklin, which is the first step, but they need a long-term upgrade for Justin Herbert, as he’s been heavily reliant on his tight end unit. Will Dissly is good, but average, which can take them to the wild-card. However, Andrews knows how to turn a rebuilding roster into champions if he gets the right opportunities in Los Angeles.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Ravens will never trade Andrews to the Kansas City Chiefs, but it’s hard not to mention the fit. Travis Kelce is returning for what will probably be his last year in the league. The Chiefs need a championship veteran, and Andrews could get the Chiefs back in the groove of things if he becomes available in free agency next offseason.
