Bruce Arians Has Honest Reaction To Watching Dak Prescott vs. Tom Brady

September 11, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Bruce Arians steps onto the Tampa Bay Buccaneers field.

Dak Prescott had over 400 yards passing and three touchdowns on Thursday night. Most of the time those numbers would result in a win, but not when you’re playing against Tom Brady and Bruce Arians.

The Cowboys quarterback was terrific during Thursday Night Football. He completed 42 of his 58 pass attempts for 403 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. Unfortunately for Dallas, it wasn’t enough.

Late in the fourth quarter, Prescott orchestrated a go-ahead scoring drive, but left too much time on the clock for No. 12. Brady did his thing, marching the offense down the field and getting the Bucs in field-goal range. Ryan Succop then kicked the game-winning field goal with a few seconds left on the clock.

Arians discussed Prescott’s performance on Thursday night. In doing so, he praised the Cowboys quarterback for his production.

“I’ve known Dak a long time and have so much respect for him as a person and a man,” Arians said, via Pro Football Talk. “He’s a tremendous football player and tremendous leader. It’s a shame he had to play Brady.”

With that being said, Arians didn’t have any concerns Brady would lose to Prescott. No. 12 had too much time to answer the Cowboys’ go-ahead field goal late in the fourth.

“There was no doubt we were gonna go win the game with him,” Arians continued.

Luckily for Dak Prescott, he won’t have to try and outduel Tom Brady anymore this season. The next time the two could potentially meet would come in the postseason.

The Cowboys will try and win their first game of the season a week from this Sunday against Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers.
