With the Cowboys releasing Amari Cooper, it is not out of the realm of possibilities to see them go wide receiver fairly early in the draft. We saw them take the best player available strategy in the past two drafts when CeeDee Lamb slipped to the Cowboys at pick at 17 in the 2020 NFL Draft; and we saw it again in 2021 when the Cowboys took Micah Parsons with the 12th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. What happens if the best player available is a receiver this year? Perhaps one with a medical concern; the Cowboys haven’t strayed away from drafting players with medical concerns in the past. Maybe they have learned from that, maybe they haven’t. That is to be seen.
Former Ohio-State-Buckeye-turned-Alabama-Crimson-Tide receiver Jameson Williams suffered a torn ACL late in the year, but put up a remarkable season up to that point. Williams might be the fastest player in the draft class as a whole. Of course, we don’t know for sure as he was unable to test at the combine due to the ACL. His ball tracking and play speed are absolutely phenomenal, but is he just a deep threat? Let’s take a look at his tape to find out.
