Cowboys center Tyler Biadasz has had his share of issues so far this season.
It’s pretty standard practice for teams in the NFL to wait until their bye week to make any drastic changes to their team, if that is at all possible. That is greatly affected by when their bye week falls in the season. While we’re still a week away from the Cowboys week seven bye, it seems like they are exploring all possibilities on their roster when it comes to the center position on the offensive line.
It’s been an up-and-down year for second-year center Tyler Biadasz after a pretty solid rookie campaign. While Biadasz has done a really nice job with his run blocking, he’s had struggles as a pass blocker and has had a consistent issue with snaps to start the season. The issues have even caught the attention of Jerry Jones who was asked if the Cowboys have an issue with snapping at the center position on with Shan and RJ of 105.3 The Fan earlier in the week. Jerry responded with an abrupt “yes”, before detailing the difficulty in the job and responsibility for a young player.
The Cowboys have players in house with experience at the center position in Connor McGovern and Matt Farniok. And they have already toyed around with giving Connor Williams snaps at the position in training camp and in the preseason, but he showed similar struggles with shotgun snaps as well. But there’s no coincidence that the Cowboys showed the media in the open portion of Cowboys practice that they are currently exploring all options at the center position.
After several bad snaps against the Giants, quarterback-center exchange became a focus at the beginning portion of practice.

Whether it’s “working on the exchanges” or seeing who else on the roster is capable on playing the position, we shouldn’t ignore Jerry Jones commenting on it being an issue, and the Cowboys having multiple linemen (who have a center background) working on snapping from the center position in practice leading up to the bye week. Even though there have been struggles, it way too early to give up on Biadasz (eighth out of centers in the NFL in run-block win rate) as the young, day-three player has done some nice things, but it’s also something to keep an eye on over the bye week.
