The Dallas Cowboys have a handful of important decisions to make this offseason when it comes to re-signing their key free agents. Though free agency hasn’t started yet, it sounds like Jayron Kearse wants to return to the team for the 2022 season.
Kearse was on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas this Tuesday to discuss the Cowboys’ outlook for next fall. He stressed the importance of keeping the coaching staff together for a second year.
When speaking about Dan Quinn’s return to the Cowboys, Kearse made it seem like he’ll definitely be back for next season.
“Getting Dan Quinn back was a huge win, and it was much-needed just to try your best to keep this group together,” Kearse said. “Because the strides we made in Year 1, it can give us a lot of upside going into Year 2, with guys being together.”

Kearse is coming off a breakout year with the Cowboys. He finished the 2021 season with 101 tackles, 10 pass breakups, two interceptions, a sack and a fumble recovery.
The Cowboys signed Kearse to a one-year contract last offseason that was worth a little over $1.1 million.
If the Cowboys want to retain Kearse for the 2022 season, they’ll have to pay a lot more this offseason.
