The Dallas Cowboys lost a pair of talented wide receivers this offseason in Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson. With the depth chart looking fairly thin at the moment, the front office could pursue Houston Texans wideout Brandin Cooks.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz is reporting that Dallas called Houston to see what it’s asking price for Cooks is at the moment.
The Cowboys aren’t the only team interested in Cooks. Schultz said the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets also have interest in the Oregon State product.
Cooks, 28, is entering the final year of his contract. If the Texans don’t want to sign him to an extension, they should consider getting some assets back in return.
Sources: #Cowboys, #Packers and #Jets have all called #Texans about WR Brandin Cooks — while #Rams and #Raiders previously called before Allen Robinson/Davante Adams moves.
• Cooks only 28 yrs old!
• SIX 1k seasons w/4 DIFF QBs!
• 205 catches of 15+ yards (5th) since 2014!— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) April 7, 2022

Despite dealing with a subpar quarterback room in 2021, Cooks had 90 receptions for 1,037 yards and six touchdowns.
Cooks has dealt with a few injuries over the course of his career, yet he still has six seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards.
Acquiring a deep threat like Cooks would really open up the Cowboys’ passing attack, especially with Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb still on the roster.
