This week, Micah Parsons gave an unfazed response regarding his much-anticipated contract extension when NFL.com reporter Tommy Yarrish spoke with him. The Dallas Cowboys’ star defender showed grit, maturity, and a strong will to put his head down and grind through another season, no matter what distractions or uncertainties lie ahead.
“I just work harder. To me, I look at it like if people don’t see your value, you don’t cry and sit down, you just work harder.” This was what he said on July 15. But in a recent Podcast with WWE superstar The Undertaker, Parsons revealed a behind-the-scenes picture of his extension with the organisation, and pointed to Jerry Jones and the front office.
Micah Parsons Gets Honest on Contract Extension Saga

Recently, Parsons appeared on the “Six Feet Under” podcast with WWE superstar The Undertaker and called out Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. When The Undertaker asked him about his contract, the linebacker took a sip of water and didn’t hold back from speaking the truth.
Parsons said, “We obviously want to get done early. We want that relief off our backs. But obviously, the ownership is always gonna make a drag out, make it more complicated than it has to be lack of communication standpoint. But you know, I just always say, God has me this far. He ain’t done with me yet. So you know, I just keep working, keep going. And then when they come, I’m gonna be ready.” He didn’t stop there and added more on the same issue.
The star linebacker further said, “I would never understand it. We wanted to do the contract last year. It was just kind of like we want to do Dak and CeeDee. And then you go out there and perform again. And then you know, you would think, like, I will get it done early. So you think like, hey, let’s get ahead of that. You know, I just never understand, you know, when guys come into the league and they’re consistent and they perform well, why they have such an urge. But then there are guys that just have one good year or maybe two good years. And it’s just like they get it right away.”
This reminds us of what Dallas reporter Jon Machota once said about Jerry Jones. The reporter pointed to the same issue, dragging things out, when explaining why the Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl since the 1995 season. Although Jones has already stated that he doesn’t rush in such situations, this is yet another example of what the Cowboys are becoming known for: making players wait for something they’ve earned through hard work.
After Parsons’s direct shot at Jerry Jones and the front office, fans took jabs at the Cowboys organization. NFL fans, experts, and analysts, though they believe he will surely get an extension, couldn’t resist throwing some words at the management of America’s Team.
Fans took a jab at Jerry Jones after Parsons’ honest take
After Parsons’s clip went viral, a Dallas Cowboys fan commented, “We have the worst front office .” Since NFL free agency began, Parsons has been waiting for an extension. That’s why another fan added a comment, saying, “The most frustrating FO in the league.” These comments were followed by one fan’s honest take and indirect advice: “When u have a star after 3 years, pay them asap.” In April and May 2025, there were also trade talks swirling around Micah, but even that didn’t seem to bother the front office.
And lastly, the Editor-in-Chief of Blogging The Boys, RJ Ochoa, bashed the Cowboys, saying, “The insistence from the Cowboys to drag these things out for attention or clout or whatever stupid thing anyone else wants to suggest out of blind loyalty to them is and remains insanity.” He also added, “Purposefully sabotaging themselves because of reasons.” Well, more than two months have passed since the extension drama began. Let’s see when Parsons will get the contract extension.
