So much for everyone staying healthy in 2021. Just as Zack Martin returns to practice, the Cowboys lose several more players. The biggest news, of course, is the devastating injury to defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence. Expect him to be out until November with a broken foot. Safety Donovan Wilson sat out of Wednesday’s work with a stubborn groin issue that could have a bearing on his availability for Sunday, and the team even saw a favorite assistant coach leave the practice field with a leg injury of unknown severity.
For the Cowboys players left, it’s time to focus on the Chargers. Dan Quinn says Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert presents a challenge, but not one his defense isn’t somewhat used to. Chargers receiver Mike Williams is hoping for a big day after watching Tampa’s pass-catchers feast on the Dallas secondary. And Ezekiel Elliott knows he’ll get his rushing stats… though they may not come this Sunday, with Joey Bosa across the line. Oh, and Tom Brady won another award… this time at the hands of the Cowboys. It’s News and Notes time.
