Jerry Jones and the Cowboys said goodbye to Amari Cooper and traded him to the Browns this offseason. A current Cowboys player still doesn’t approve the decision.
Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz told reporters on Monday that the Cowboys offense took a step backwards by trading Cooper. He’s stating the obvious.
Cooper is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. All Cleveland had to give up to get him is a fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. That’s it.
The Cowboys gave him up for practically nothing. Schultz still isn’t happy about it.
Dalton Schultz said the Cowboys are not a better offense without Amari Cooper. He is one of the best wide receivers in the league.

He’s not wrong. What was Jerry Jones thinking?
In four seasons in Dallas, Cooper had 3,893 yards receiving and 27 touchdowns. More importantly, he was Dak Prescott’s favorite target.
So who do the Cowboys now turn to at wide receiver? The team will need big performances out of CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup and James Washington this upcoming season.
Cooper, meanwhile, figures to be a focal point of the Cleveland Browns offense this fall.
