Most players don’t like getting hit with the franchise tag from their respective teams, but Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz is looking at the positives.
When the 25-year-old was extended the $10.9 million tag, it didn’t take him long to sign it. Saying, he loves being a Cowboys and referring to it as a good starting point.
“I think it’s a good start,” Schultz explained via The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “Obviously this is the place I want to be. [I] love being here. I love this organization. [I] want to work out a long-term deal and I think they do too. I hope we can get that done.”

Both sides appear to want to work out a long-term deal; and they have until July 15 to do so.
Schultz has been Dallas‘ starting tight end for the past two seasons and enjoyed nice success last season. Reeling in 78 catches for over 800 yards and eight touchdowns.
He and Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott appear to have a nice wavelength on the field.
As both were picked in the fourth-round by Dallas and have turned themselves into very good players.
