Dallas Cowboys fans aren’t all happy about their offseason, and reports of them falling short on a trade target won’t alleviate those concerns.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys expressed interest in wide receiver DeVante Parker before the Miami Dolphins moved him within the AFC East to the New England Patriots. Dallas is still on the prowl for another wideout after not landing the 29-year-old.
One of the teams that expressed interest in acquiring WR Devante Parker before New England ultimately did was the Dallas Cowboys, per league sources. Dallas not done looking to add another WR.

For some fans, trying isn’t enough. They also doubted the sincerity of the Cowboys leaking their interest after not acquiring the target.

Twitter users offered helpful suggestions on who the NFC East champions can pursue instead.
They were interested in another receiver?
Well, go get Brandin Cooks.
Cooks is exactly the type of receiver Dallas needs. https://t.co/HxWsH5ORdb

Other fans are wondering why the Cowboys traded Cooper to the Cleveland Browns if they knew they’d need to upgrade the position without him.
The Cowboys could use a wide receiver like Amari Cooper. Would be great there. https://t.co/Ag68thcdko

Trading Cooper was all a matter of money. His $20 million salary was about to become fully guaranteed before the Cowboys moved him in order to preserve cap space, which they used to tag tight end Dalton Schultz and re-sign Michael Gallup.
However, Gallup could begin his five-year extension by missing multiple games to start the 2022 season. Since the Dolphins signed Cedrick Wilson Jr. before dealing Parker, Dallas currently lacks depth at wide receiver.
Schefter’s report at least shows the Cowboys know they must address the issue. We’ll see who else they have in mind.
