The Dallas Cowboys player power rankings is something we take very seriously here at Cowboys Wire. It’s a combination of long-term success, current heat index, and to a lesser extent player pedigree and future expectations. Each week a review of performances is in order and as more intel is gathered, the swings become more compacted as the season wears on.
Unlike the previous years, we waited a bit to present our initial weekly rankings. Now, with four weeks of action under their belt, a clear pecking order has been defined for this upstart group of individuals. Several of the rookies have found their way into being integral parts of the lineup. Meanwhile some veterans have only been able to suit up for one game, sometimes making it difficult to place them within the context of those contributing over four contests to an impressive 3-1 start to the season for the club.
Mike McCarthy, Kellen Moore and Dan Quinn have been doing an excellent job in managing the talent on the roster, as this Dallas team has dealt with a myriad of injuries, COVID-protocol absences and even a surprise suspension. The result has been tangible information on a large group of players. That allowed the rankings to debut in midseason form, with 53 players earning a spot.
