Dallas Cowboys schedule has favorable advantage over second half of season

The Cowboys caught quite the break with potential weather and conditions relative to their schedule.

The Dallas Cowboys schedule dropped on Wednesday and now we officially know a lot of things.

There is a sector of people who believe finding out the schedule is rather inconsequential as we knew who Dallas would play in 2025 the moment that last regular season ended. Ultimately the truth is that the schedule definitely matters as playing teams with rest advantages or things of that nature can prove to sometimes be the difference.

As far as this season’s schedule is concerned, the Cowboys seem to have caught some mighty favor in one particular department. It is fair to be upset that the team is playing on both Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, but we can hold our thoughts there for a moment.

This team got very lucky as far as one particular element is concerned.

Weather will not be a factor for the Cowboys over the second half of the season

You can see that the Cowboys are going to be visiting the Denver Broncos in Week 8. To be specific, this game is taking place in the final week of October. It is certainly starting to get a bit chilly around then in colder parts of the United States, but that is hardly frigid.

Take a look at the road on from that point. Across the next two months (until Christmas Day exactly) the Cowboys have two road games and they are against the Las Vegas Raiders and Detroit Lions, teams who both play in domed stadiums.

It is fair to wonder whether or not the Week 18 game on the road against the New York Giants will even hold legitimate consequences for Dallas, that game both has and hasn’t in the past, and even if it does that is a team who the Cowboys have dominated in recent history. Consider that since 2017 the Cowboys are 15-1 against the G-Men. Yes, really.

So this means that outside of that game, the Cowboys will only travel to an outdoor climate a single time and it will be when they visit Washington on Christmas Day. It will certainly be cold, but even then the game is at 1pm ET! It will have the most sun possible. What a break.

Time will tell what the team looks like under Brian Schottenheimer, but the Cowboys have had a habit in recent memory of not exactly playing well when tasked with combat in the cold. It was one of the reasons we were so excited about them securing the second seed in the conference two years ago (that didn’t work out, obviously).

Don’t worry about packing a parka. This Cowboys team will remain at room temperature for most of the second half of the season.
