Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin will no longer be a member of NFL Network. It was reported this Friday that his contract won’t be renewed.
Irvin and NFL Network have been on shaky terms ever since an alleged incident that took place at a Marriott Hotel in February 2023. He was suspended for several months before being reinstated.
Although fans aren’t stunned that NFL Network is moving on from Irvin, they feel bad for “The Playmaker” since he’s been part of the “GameDay Morning” crew since 2009.
With that said, most fans believe NFL Network is making a mistake getting rid of Irvin.
“This is the worst firing ON EVERY LEVEL for the NFL Network,” a fan said.
“Budget cuts so Nasty cause they’ll really cut the best ppl on the network smh,” a second fan tweeted.
“Boo. Really fun, dynamic TV presence,” another person wrote.
“Irv is so entertaining to watch.. bad move,” a social media user commented.
Irvin has not yet commented on NFL Network’s decision. Perhaps he’ll release a statement once this move becomes official.
Fans of Irvin are hoping he’ll make future appearances on FS1’s “Undisputed.” That’s certainly possible since he has worked with Skip Bayless in the past.
