Former NFL Running Back, Cowboys Coach Dies At 52

A former NFL running back and Dallas Cowboys assistant coach passed away at the age of 52 on Sunday night.

Gary Brown, who starred collegiately at Penn State before playing in the National Football League, died in his hometown of Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

“Former Dallas Cowboys running back coach Gary Brown, who spent this past year coaching running backs at Wisconsin, passed away tonight. He was in hospice for the last couple of weeks at in hometown in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Brown was a star running back at Penn State. RIP,” Clarence Hill Jr. tweeted.

Brown played in the NFL from 1991-99. He spent time with the Houston Oilers, San Diego Chargers and New York Giants.

The former Penn State star then began his coaching career. He was the Dallas Cowboys running backs coach from 2013-19.
