After an eventful offseason and an exciting kickoff to training camp, the Cowboys take the field for the first time on Thursday, August 5 against the Steelers to begin the preseason. This is the first preseason NFL game since 2019 with the COVID-19 pandemic causing the preseason to be canceled entirely in 2020.
Dallas will have a limited roster in Ohio, but plenty of the Cowboys’ stars will take the field for the Pro Football Hall of Fame game with rookies like linebacker Micah Parsons and cornerback Kelvin Joseph making their NFL debuts. Quarterback Garrett Gilbert is expected to be the starter for Dallas while Mason Rudolph will start for Pittsburgh.
Participating in the ceremonies in Canton for the Hall of Fame enshrinement, fans will be able to see Dallas in action for the first time with a full attendance of fans. Cowboys legend Drew Pearson will be enshrined with his bronze bust over the weekend.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame game will be aired nationally at 8 p.m. ET, August 5 on Fox while fans can also watch the game on the Fox Sports App.
