For as successful as their run together with the Dallas Cowboys was, owner Jerry Jones and his former head coach Jimmy Johnson had a brutal divorce.
In the past Jones made it clear he wouldn’t let Johnson into the Cowboys Ring of Honor. However, he recently made a surprising admission about Johnson, admitting the fault was his.
In a press conference once the Cowboys returned to training camp late last month, Jones admitted that he “f-d it up” with Johnson as it relates to their relationship together. Jones said he didn’t even have a good reason for doing so.
However, Jimmy Johnson is also taking some accountability for the rough divorce. Johnson said Jerry shouldn’t take all of the blame.
“Jerry shouldn’t take the entire blame. I was ready to move on. Could we have done something to make it work? Maybe. It really wasn’t all his fault.”

When speaking to the media last month, Jones hinted that Johnson might finally receive an invite to the Cowboys Ring of Honor.
However, it won’t be happening this year due to his Hall of Fame induction. It’s good to see the Cowboys owner and the former head coach finally putting their differences behind them.
Johnson deserves a spot in the Cowboys Ring of Honor and it sounds like that finally might become a reality.
