On Thursday night, reports revealed that police were seeking an interview with Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph regarding a fatal shooting in Dallas last month.
Joseph is a person of interest in the murder of 20-year-old Cameron Ray, who was involved in an altercation with a group of men that appeared to include the rising second-year pro back in March. One of the men was wearing a “YKDV” necklace — Joseph sometimes goes by the rap name “YKDV Bossman Fat.”
Video footage obtained by KDFW-TV in Dallas shows gunshots coming from an SUV as Ray and his friends walked away from the altercation.
On Friday, Joseph’s attorney confirmed that the Cowboys corner was in the vehicle — but was unarmed and did not fire the shots.
“Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph was a passenger in a vehicle from which several gunshots were fired last month, killing a man in the Old East Dallas area, but Joseph was unarmed and did not kill the man, per his attorney,” the Dallas Morning News reports.
