The Cowboys didn’t have the most inspiring offseason in 2024. Multiple players departed in free agency and the Dallas front office did little to replace them. Aside from adding Eric Kendricks at linebacker, the Cowboys did next to nothing to add new faces to the mix.
Despite the net loss in talent overall, the Cowboys did manage to improve multiple positions heading into the new season. Players returning from injuries and additions made via the NFL draft all figure into the mix. Some projection is required with these but nothing unreasonable is being expected from them.
Offensive line, specifically, is a tough evaluation based on injuries and projection. Terence Steele is a player still on the mend and Tyler Guyton and Cooper Beebe are both rookies being thrown into the fire. Depth on the offensive line is improved but based on reasonable expectations, the line doesn’t appear to be better in the short-term. As such, O-line misses the cut.
But other rookies and injury comebacks stand to improve their respective units and those are who we look at today.
