On Thursday night, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys took the field for the first game of the 2021 season.
Well, kind of. The Steelers and Cowboys faced off in the Hall of Fame Game – the first preseason game of the new season. While it’s not as sexy as a regular season game, it does highlight the fact that (real) football is close.
It certainly looked like the first game of the season as both team failed to find much success on offense in the first half. The Cowboys entered the locker room at halftime with a 3-0 lead thanks to a few missed field goals.
Fans had to wait a little bit longer than they would have liked, but the first touchdown of the game came just over four minutes into the third quarter. Steelers running back Kalen Ballage tucked right his offensive line and found the endzone on a four-yard carry.
Check it out.

Points have been difficult to come by as the Steelers and Cowboys field teams primarily built from back-ups and those just hoping to make the roster.
Later in the third quarter, the Steelers added a 48-yard field goal that gave Pittsburgh a 9-3 lead.
That’s where things stand now with just over five minutes left in the third quarter.
