By Cameron Flynn Mike McCarthy, head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, was diagnosed with acute appendicitis Wednesday afternoon after reporting abdominal pain to his doctors in the morning. He underwent emergency surgery as a result. Fortunately, this Thursday, all indications are that McCarthy’s procedure was successful.
