Micah Parsons‘ NFL career is off to a better start than anyone could’ve imagined. The talented linebacker from Penn State already has 75 tackles, 27 quarterback hits, 12 sacks and three forced fumbles as a rookie.
Although there’s no denying how special Parsons has looked in his first season, there’s one NFL coach who thinks fans need to pump the brakes on all the hype.
During an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians commented on the Lawrence Taylor comparisons for Parsons.
“He’s started to have a heck of a career,” Arians said. “But when you’re talking about the best defensive player in the history of this league, slow down a little bit.”

Parsons has been compared to a few legends already. Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy recently said Parsons reminds him of Barry Sanders
“I’m never surprised because he’s so natural. He’s almost like Barry Sanders in there when he’s avoiding blocks. They can’t get their hands on him,” McCarthy said.
Arians has a point that it’s way too early to crown Parsons as the next Lawrence Taylor. On the other hand, it’s fun to think about the type of player Parsons can potentially develop into when he’s older.
NFL fans can watch Parsons this Sunday when the Cowboys take on the Giants.
