The National Football League will reportedly not be investigating the Dallas Cowboys voyeurism scandal that involved a now-former employee and the team’s cheerleaders.
Earlier this month, ESPN reported that former Cowboys vice president Richard Dalrymple was accused of recording cheerleaders changing in the locker room in 2015. Dalrymple denied the allegations, though the team reportedly settled with the cheerleaders for $2.4 million.
The NFL is apparently satisfied with the results of the Cowboys investigation. Dalrymple no longer works for the team, as he retired this year.
The NFL on February 9: “A team can’t investigate itself.”
The NFL on February 18: “The Cowboys investigated themselves, and we’re fine with that.”

Pro Football Talk questions the lack of an NFL investigation, though:
There’s something more going on here, and the NFL doesn’t want to be bothered with delving into it, not with the Washington scandal and the Brian Flores lawsuit. And the Jon Gruden lawsuit. And the claim that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross deliberately tried to lose games in 2019. And every other actual or potential controversy that the league’s preference for reaction over proaction invites.
In this specific case, the league’s reaction is to be proactive about inaction. If enough in the media keep quiet about it, the league will get away with it.
Perhaps that is the case. NFL fans have taken to social media to weigh in, too.
“Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder got immunity,” one fan suggested.
“Not defending bc I detest Cowboys but perhaps bc their issue charged a former employee and DC is charge against owner himself, the guy who ruined my (and a whole region’s) beloved team?” another fan pointed out.
“The NFL always: ‘We do whatever we want and all of you will continue to watch no matter what,’” another fan wrote.
The Cowboys are coming off a Wild Card Round loss to the 49ers.
