NFL Veteran “Not Done Yet” Drawing Interest From Teams – 4 Possible Suitors

August 15, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

After rumors were circulating that the top free agent was going to retire, the veteran shot it down and is drawing interest from several NFL teams. According to multiple reports, Beckham plans to play this upcoming season and has been keeping in shape in case a team calls him up for a chance on a roster. This comes after a post of a fake account reporting that Beckham was retiring, receiving more than two million views on social media. Beckham is still a free agent and is still looking for work after signing a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins last year.

Originally selected in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the former LSU product didn’t have the most productive season in Miami, hauling in just nine passes and only 55 receiving yards. It was the first time in his career that he went a season without recording a touchdown, and now he’s hoping to reignite his career one last time. After not being claimed off waivers, Beckham has been a free agent ever since, despite being one of the most prolific wide receivers in the league. The wide receiver isn’t going to get the best contract out there anymore, but these four teams might offer him a solid one-year deal.

NFL Veteran Odell Beckham Jr “Not Done Yet” Drawing Interest From Teams – 4 Possible Suitors

Best Possible Next Teams

Washington Commanders

Since the Washington Commanders are building an old-school roster, this free agent signing makes the most sense. Quarterback Jayden Daniels and Beckham could establish solid chemistry, so these two playing on the same team could be a scary sight. As Deebo Samuel has been a little disappointing at training camp, the Commanders should sign another veteran in the receiving corps to help Luke McCaffrey and Michael Gallup in the aerial attack. Beckham won’t improve the offense drastically, but he could be an efficient weapon during the postseason.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Speaking of old-school, the Pittsburgh Steelers are getting older after signing Aaron Rodgers to a one-year deal with hopes of winning a Super Bowl sooner rather than later. The Steelers are still in the hunt for another wide receiver after trading for DK Metcalf, and even though Beckham isn’t a WR2 anymore, it’s better than what they have. Robert Woods is way past his prime, and the only type of promising production you may get is from Calvin Austin and Roman Wilson.

Dallas Cowboys

Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys could be in the market for a wide receiver, depending on how their season is going. CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens are two high-level wideouts for Dak Prescott, but they must fill the depth chart with a reliable veteran. After letting Brandin Cooks walk in free agency, it might be best to get Beckham in this mix to keep the Cowboys older if they want success in the postseason and help other youngsters like Jalen Tolbert and Jonathan Mingo.

Kansas City Chiefs

However, the Kansas City Chiefs will lose wide receiver Rashee Rice for a few games this upcoming season. This means they should at least roll the dice on a temporary slot wideout that can boost this pass-attack for Patrick Mahomes. Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy are two versatile options when they can stay healthy, but Beckham’s addition should be a reliable one, especially when they have JuJu Smith-Schuster already on the team.
