On Jan. 2, the Arizona Cardinals will take on the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC matchup that should have major playoff implications. As a result, the NFL has changed the kickoff time for this Week 17 game.
Instead of having this game take place at 1 p.m. ET, the NFL has moved the kickoff time to 4:25 p.m. ET. It’ll be “America’s Game of the Week” for FOX.
With the Cardinals and Cowboys firmly in the race for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, it makes sense for the NFL to put this game in a time slot that’ll attract millions of viewers. For that reason alone, the sports world understands why this minor change was made to the Week 17 schedule.
“Make note: not a huge surprise, but FOX gets Game of the Week featuring the Cowboys again,” one fan tweeted.

It certainly sounds like Cowboys fans are on board with the NFL’s decision.
“Good,” a Cowboys fan responded to the news. “Noon games are trash!”

Though it’s not confirmed yet, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will most likely be in the broadcast booth for this matchup.
Depending on how the next few weeks shape out, the winner of the Cardinals-Cowboys game might just be in the driver’s seat to have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
