NFL World Reacts To Dak Prescott’s First Game Back From Injury

September 11, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott before the Eagles game. The Cowboys are the focus of the 2021 season of Hard Knocks on HBO.

Dak Prescott and Tom Brady welcomed back NFL football with a pair of show-stopping performances on Thursday night.

In a thrilling 31-29 shootout, the defending Super Bowl champions took down the Cowboys on a last second field goal. Brady threw 32-of-50 for 379 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions and Prescott responded with 403 yards, three touchdowns and one interception of his own.

Together, the two star QBs combined for 782 yards and seven touchdowns.

While this excellence is what we’ve come to expect from Brady, many wondered if Prescott would be ready to perform at a high level in his first game back following his devastating leg injury this past season.

Despite the loss, Dallas’ superstar signal caller certainly didn’t disappoint.

The NFL world took to Twitter t0 react to Dak’s league return.

I cannot believe how much energy some people wasted arguing if Dak Prescott was really an elite quarterback.

#Cowboys QB Dak Prescott returned tonight for the first time in almost 11 months and completed 42/58 passes for 403 yards and 3 TDs.

He had multiple ankle surgeries. Dealt with a shoulder strain all of camp. Played tonight as if none of that happened. Comeback is just starting.

Dak Prescott’s tonight performance proves that the Cowboys will win the NFC East.

My wife—a Philly girl—through and through—and a die hard Eagles fan just looked at me and said “is it bad I wish Dak Prescott was the Eagles QB”

Don’t have to be a Cowboys fan to be glad Dak is back. The NFL is better with him on the field.

Prescott suffered a brutal compound fracture on his right ankle during Week 5 of the 2020 season, leading to multiple surgeries and months of rehab. But before that, the two-time Pro Bowler was off to the best start of his NFL career.

Now, he’s picking up right where he left off.

Through the first four games of the 2020 season, Prescott logged a league-leading 1,690 passing yards with three games over 450 yards and nine total touchdowns. Last night’s 400+ yard performance just adds to that list impressive games for the 28-year-old QB.

Though the Cowboys fell in their Week 1 season-opener, Prescott made it pretty clear that his team are in for a much-improved year if he can remain healthy and performing at a high level.
