Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was quite impressed with TCU quarterback Max Duggan during Day 2 of the Senior Bowl.
Jones raved about Duggan’s confidence, telling reporters that he “stood out” in practice.
“He just looked comfortable. He looked confident. And he was really throwing the ball around,” Jones said. “He was certainly the most impressive quarterback in my mind.”
Although the NFL Draft is still over two months away, Dallas fans are convinced Jones wants to add Duggan to his roster this offseason.
“He’s going to draft Duggan…bookmark,” one fan tweeted.
“I would love for him to be behind Dak for a couple of years and take over eventually,” another fan wrote.
“It’s not good when Jerry salivates over a QB. He liked Johnny Draft Bust, Paxton Lynch, and Connor Cook,” a third fan commented.
Duggan was a Heisman finalist in his final season at TCU. He completed 63.7 percent of his passes for 3,698 yards with 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
Not only did Duggan make explosive plays in the passing game, he had over 400 yards and nine scores on the ground.
Duggan is not projected to be a Day 1 pick. If the Cowboys want to add a young backup for next season, maybe they’ll take a long look at the TCU star.
