Despite showing the league that the Los Angeles Rams are serious about a Super Bowl, it came with a loss in their secondary in the wake of an injury to Ahkello Witherspoon. According to the breaking news, Witherspoon left the second quarter of the matchup against the Titans with an injury, which is a huge loss as he suffered a broken clavicle and will more than likely miss significant time. The good news is that veteran cornerback Darious Williams took over his spot and was able to hold his own on the field to help the Rams to victory. Despite that, the team should be in the market for a temporary cornerback who could add some firepower to this secondary.
With Stephon Gilmore still available and ready to sign at the right moment, the Rams could take advantage of this moment and contact him about a potential visit. Originally selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the former South Carolina product is still an adequate cornerback in the league, even though he’s way past his prime. He has like three years left in the tank and could be a solid fit. Between Emmanuel Forbes, Josh Wallace, Cobie Durant and Williams, Gilmore is easily a starter in this unit, but these three other teams could sign him this upcoming week.

Other Potential Suitors
Dallas Cowboys
Despite the thrilling win over the New York Giants, the Dallas Cowboys could use some help in their secondary unit. The team will most likely be without DaRon Bland for more time than anyone is expecting, and even if he does return, he won’t be getting all of the snaps on the field. After signing Jadeveon Clowney to salvage the defensive line, they must have that same energy for this cornerback room, especially when Trevon Diggs didn’t have his best game against the Giants’ wide receivers.
While they did allow almost 400 passing yards from quarterback Russell Wilson, the Cowboys must sign Gilmore at some point to give Bland and Diggs a boost in the boundary and in situational moments.
Washington Commanders
Meanwhile, it shouldn’t be surprising if head coach Dan Quinn ends up intervening at some point during this season. He was there at the same time that Gilmore was a Cowboy, and it wouldn’t be any shocker for him to reunite with him. Between Marshon Lattimore, Trey Amos and Mike Sainristil, Gilmore could solidify their unit and possibly boost their chances for a Super Bowl appearance even though their offense is facing challenges due to injuries.
Philadelphia Eagles
However, the Eagles are on a phenomenal win streak coming off capturing the Super Bowl in February. Despite a rough game from Adoree’ Jackson in Week 1, there were signs of improvement from the cornerback unit, but Gilmore is most obviously the upgrade here. He won’t be taking away snaps from Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell, but just imagine Gilmore getting in that mix to push for a second consecutive ring; it might be what the veteran needs to top off his illustrious career.
