While nothing will happen anytime soon, the Philadelphia Eagles could be open to the idea of a blockbuster trade involving star wide receiver AJ Brown. One report believes that the Eagles might entertain the trade rumors that have been swirling since the past offseason and could see what offers are out there for their wideout. Brown became the latest receiver in the league, amid several trade rumors, after posting a cryptic message on X that got people within the NFL talking. It’s no secret that the wide receiver is becoming dissatisfied with his role on the Eagles’ offense, but the good news for them is that Brown said everything out of frustration.
Originally selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the former Ole Miss product might have every right to be upset at this stage of his career. Brown has only been able to record 151 receiving yards and one touchdown while hauling in 14 catches. Despite that, he and Jalen Hurts were able to iron out their issues during the 2024 campaign, where they helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl this past February. This probably won’t be the last everyone hears about the chatter of a Brown trade, as the Eagles have been able to be successful in other roster units like the ground game, special teams and defense. While Philadelphia is 4-0, things could be way worse if they were 1-3, and that’s why it makes sense that a trade during this upcoming offseason might be a possibility.

Possible Next Teams
Dallas Cowboys
In a perfect world for the Dallas Cowboys, this could be a strong possibility. Dallas does have extra first-round picks and Jerry Jones is open for business, but it would need to be for a special player. While the Cowboys are probably planning to extend George Pickens this offseason, it shouldn’t stop them from increasing their postseason odds for future seasons to come. This would mean trading for Brown to get in the mix with CeeDee Lamb and Pickens might be what Dak Prescott to finally win a Super Bowl. They might have to give up one player to pull this off, but as Prescott is aging, they should probably take the risk.
With Dallas trading Micah Parsons to Green Bay, anything can be possible at the right offer. Prescott has the arm to get Brown in the right situation, so this is something to keep an eye on.
Los Angeles Chargers
Meanwhile, if the Eagles end up trading Brown, they’d want to send him to an AFC team instead. To one’s surprise, they wouldn’t want to face Brown in a potential matchup. While the Los Angeles Chargers look like they have one of the hottest offenses in the league, led by quarterback Justin Herbert, what counts is what they can do in January. They have the weapons between Quentin Johnston, Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen to help Herbert, but the inexperienced talent could hold them back.
If things fall flat, it might be a lack of star power in their receiver room, and Brown could be an efficient upgrade if they lose in the wild-card again.
Denver Broncos
The same can be said about the Denver Broncos. Bo Nix could easily be a top 5 quarterback if Sean Payton allows him to have plenty of talent in the aerial attack. This doesn’t mean Courtland Sutton or Troy Franklin can’t, but it really takes one more player to get that real last push. Brown isn’t in his prime by any means, but he would be the No. 1 receiver on this offense if the Eagles sends him to Denver.
