Things haven’t gotten off to a great start for the New Orleans Saints, as the team has a 0-3 record and could trade for wide receiver Romeo Doubs. According to Bleacher Report, they made a list of possible trade candidates for the winless teams and think the Saints could trade for Doubs. Interestingly, the source believes that the Saints could target another offensive weapon, given that they traded for former Bronco DeVaughn Vele and claimed Trey Palmer off waivers. The Saints already have a deep receiver room, featuring Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and veteran Brandin Cooks, but it only makes sense if they have championship aspirations.
It would’ve made a little more sense if the Saints were 3-0 instead and wanted to turn up the heat. However, the belief may be that if Olave or Shaheed suffers another injury, they wouldn’t need to worry about another receiver if they got Doubs. Either way, Doubs has been in several trade rumors, and when Christian Watson and Jayden Reed return from their injuries, it could get difficult for Doubs to find a role in the Packers’ offense. Originally selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Nevada product has been able to stay on the field and be an adequate weapon for quarterback Jordan Love this year.
It was still a little shocking that they gave Watson an extension, who has yet to see the field, instead of Doubs, who is in his final year of his contract. Here are three possible suitors instead that may make a little more sense.

Saints, Packers Could Connect on Latest Blockbuster Romeo Doubs Trade – 3 Other Logical Suitors
Potential Destinations
Dallas Cowboys
With CeeDee Lamb expected to miss time, panic is happening with the Dallas Cowboys. After their grueling loss against the Chicago Bears, they must figure out how to get more aggressive in certain situations. Everyone can blame this atrocious secondary all they want, but they must upgrade the receiver core group to help George Pickens, Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin. Pickens has been looking like his old Pittsburgh self, and Tolbert is only consistent in certain moments.
A trade for Doubs would put Dak Prescott in the driver’s seat to lead this offense with confidence. Perhaps, after trading away Micah Parsons to Green Bay, they could be generous here and be open to sending Doubs for at least a future 2027 second-round draft pick.
Atlanta Falcons
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons need to figure out how to jumpstart quarterback Michael Penix Jr. again. After their shutout loss against the Carolina Panthers, they can’t afford to position themselves in a situation where the chemistry is dying. Doubs won’t take snaps away from their top pass-catcher, Drake London, but it would help Darnell Mooney create some separation in the aerial attack.
Denver Broncos
However, the Denver Broncos were close to defeating the Los Angeles Chargers. At 1-2, the team is better than what their record shows, and sometimes it just takes one massive trade to change things around. After shipping away Vele to the Saints, there should be enough for Doubs to get in the mix to assist the receiver core group that already contains Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims.
