Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons and team owner Jerry Jones are stuck in a contract battle. Talks have slowed, and Parsons recently wiped all Cowboys content from his social media.
Parsons has removed all team content from his social media accounts. He also changed his bio to read “Penn State 2021. TBD” and posted a Bible verse, Micah 7:8. Parsons has not spoken publicly, but the social media purge is seen as a sign of frustration.

Jerry Jones shed light on Micah Parsons’ deal details
Cowboys linebacker has wanted a bigger deal for more than a year. Jones says he already offered Parsons a record-setting contract this spring, one that would have made him the highest-paid defensive player in guaranteed money.
On Thursday, the Dallas owner spoke on Michael Irvin’s podcast. Jones said he and Micah Parsons had already agreed on the main details of a deal. But Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, disagreed.
“They’re in here to make their percentage,” Jones told Irvin. “They’re in here to basically advise Micah.
“Come over to the office, and I’ll show you exactly what I offered Micah,” he added. “We got it in the back. It’s with all written down, everything to go.”
Star Linebacker Parsons’ Agent Called the Claim False
Former NFL safety Ryan Clark shared a video on X on Thursday. He said he spoke with Micah Parsons’ agent, Mulugheta, and said:
“I just hit David Mulugheta and I simply asked him I said ‘did you tell Jerry Jones to stick the contract up his a*s because I was like ain’t no way,’” Clark said. “He laughed and he said ‘I’ve never used that phrase in my life.’”
“For anybody who was reporting that for Jerry Jones, saying that this is false, this never happened. This is just another public way to make this situation, which is already ugly, even uglier. David Mulugheta in no way has ever told Jerry Jones or any other general manager or owner that. It’s all bull crap. It’s all lies.”

Since Jones is both owner and GM, Parsons is an employee who must show up when called. The Cowboys still hold control. Parsons is under contract this year, and Jones can use the franchise tag for two more years if needed. He has done that in the past with stars like Dak Prescott and Dez Bryant.
But this approach feels outdated and could damage the team’s image, especially with Parsons seen as their best player. For now, both sides remain dug in, and fans are left to wonder how long the standoff will last.

Cowboys’ preseason was a total rough ride
Brian Schottenheimer and company have played three preseason games so far:
- In Week 1, they lost to the Los Angeles Rams, 31-21.
- In Week 2, they fell to the Baltimore Ravens, 31-13.
- In Week 3, they bounced back with a 31-13 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
The Cowboys now sit at 1-2 in the preseason. Their next game is against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, Sept. 4, right after Labor Day.
