Troy Aikman could be calling his final NFL game with FOX on Sunday night.
The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback turned broadcaster has been working for FOX for roughly two decades. His time with the network could be coming to an end on Sunday, though.
Aikman, who has been linked to Amazon, could be leaving FOX for a gig with the streaming service this offseason. Amazon has the full rights to the Thursday Night Football package moving forward.
It’s possible that Sunday’s NFC Championship Game could be Aikman’s last alongside Joe Buck and Erin Andrews.
“There are conversations that are taking place,” Aikman told The Athletic’s Richard Deitsch on his Sports Media podcast. “I don’t know if I’m going to be working for Fox. I don’t know if I’m going to be working for Fox and Amazon. I don’t know if I’m going to be working for Amazon… I’m not real sure how this thing’s going to look when it’s all said and done.”
Aikman’s longtime on-air partner, Joe Buck, obviously doesn’t want him to leave.
“I don’t want him to go anywhere.”

“I think I would be in the conversation, but I think they are certainly in no way, shape or form obligated to listen to anything I say. They’re the boss. I’m the guy that sits in the booth. I’ve worked with multiple people in baseball. I’ve worked with multiple people in football. I started with Tim Green and I’ve been with Bill Maas and Brian Baldinger and different people along the way. It’s been 20 years and when you do these games that are intense as they are, I know where he’s going and he knows where I’m going and I know what he wants to talk about and he knows when and what I want to talk about. That’s really hard to replicate,” Buck told Jimmy Traina.
If Sunday is Aikman’s final game with FOX, hopefully it’s a good one.
The Rams and the 49ers are set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. E.T.
