As I mentioned in my last article, the world has not given me a chance to chat with the ladies on the OTFB Podcast recently, so I had an idea. I’d write a fun article to make up for it.
Training camp has started and the dawn of a new season is upon us. And you know how each team has a hashtag that the NFL randomly assigns each year? Well, I just did the NFC North unofficial hashtags, and now I’m ready to take on the NFC East.
It isn’t going to be what the NFL may give the team (but if it is, I’m just going to assume that great minds think alike), but a hashtag of a word or phrase that I think will embody the team this season. Let’s see how it goes!
Like I did with the NFC North, we’ll go alphabetically.
Dallas Cowboys #TheTwins
Most (if not all) Cowboys fans remember the Triplets…quarterback Troy Aikman, running back Emmitt Smith, and wide receiver Micheal Irvin. Well, now they’ve got the Twins! Quarterback Dak Prescott and RB Ezekiel Elliott. They both waited to get big contracts, and boy did they get them. Now we’re looking forward to a healthy Prescott and a better Elliott on the field.
So, hopes are high for Cowboy nation, but those hopes start with #TheTwins. OK, so when I started this yesterday, Prescott was healthy. Now, he’s getting an MRI of his shoulder. It is early, and hopefully, all is well.
It’s only right… @dak

New York Giants #MakeTheMove
In New York, they have a newish coach, and quarterback in Daniel Jones, who should both be getting a little more comfortable in their roles. There were some key free-agent additions in WR Kenny Golladay, tight end Kyle Rudolph and linebacker Reggie Ragland. Also, and probably most important, they are anticipating the return of RB Saquon Barkley.
With all of that, it’s time for the Giants to #MakeTheMove. They may not make the playoffs, but they hopefully should be able to win 9 games this season.
Alright I’m gonna say it

Philadelphia Eagles #WinAtAllCosts
This team. I love it so. Their fans are among my favorite on Twitter. But after quite a disappointing 2020 campaign it’s time to regroup and get it together. #WinAtAllCosts
They’re finally giving their former first-round draft pick, QB Jalen Hurts, the keys to the car. They also are paring him with his former WR in DeVonta Smith. Now, we’re gonna hope that the Eagles aren’t trying to trade for QB Deshawn Watson, but there is plenty of optimism around the team so far. So let’s go, and #WinAtAllCosts
Jalen Hurts plans to meet with the WRs and TEs after every practice and address what worked well, what didn’t, and what they need to work on.

Washington Football Team #RunItBack
They have had quite the offseason. It’s mostly been centered around the front office staff, but it’s been a lot of drama. That’s another post for another day, but after having a successful 2020, the Washington Football Team is ready to #RunItBack and win the division again.
Their defense is one of the best ones in the NFL with the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Chase Young. I mean, they gave QB Tom Brady fits in the wild card round of the playoffs last year. Now, veteran, and fan favorite, QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is taking over and looking to have a good season as well.
