The Rangers and A’s now have the same record
The Texas Rangers scored one run but the West Sacramento Athletics scored two runs.
For a while there, the Rangers were a team that had been facing some of the stiffest opposing pitching, contributing perhaps to their slow start at the plate. But I don’t know, if you can’t hit JP Sears at all two times in a week, it’s probably a you problem.
Today the Rangers didn’t even reach their prerequisite two runs, settling for just one which I guess is better than the expected zero.
I feel bad for Patrick Corbin. I was sitting around kind of angry at him for allowing two runs. Two runs in 4 1⁄3 innings isn’t even a very good outing, but it’s Patrick Corbin. If he doesn’t allow like five or six runs, it should be considered a win. And yet, you won’t find many victories regardless when each run the team with the T on their cap scores feels like witnessing a miracle.
Player of the Game: Jonah Heim had a couple of hits and drove in the run that prevented Texas from going scoreless for a third time in their last four home games.
Up Next: The Rangers and A’s will play again tomorrow with RHP Jacob deGrom expected to pitch for Texas against a hurler who has not yet been named for not-Oakland.
The Tuesday night first pitch from The Shed is set for 7:05 pm CT and you can find it to watch via the Rangers Sports Network if you’re into that sort of thing.
