The Rangers did not score
The Texas Rangers had two hits but the Washington Nationals had two runs.
What is there to say? You’ve seen this exact game 50 times already in just a couple of months. Unfortunately, the lack of prowess at the plate ruined a productive evening from tonight’s starter Patrick Corbin.
Coming back to Nationals Park, the maligned in DC lefty ended up throwing a complete game, though of the eight inning variety. Washington didn’t need their final frame because the Rangers outputted just two hits and didn’t really even threaten to score.
My advice: Enjoy the stuff like what Corbin did tonight and ignore the rest. That might be the only way we make it through this summer.
Player of the Game: Corbin allowed two runs in eight innings, needing just 89 pitches. That’s an excellent start. The rest of the Rangers rendered it a loss in Corbin’s return to the District.
Remarkably, Corbin has allowed three or fewer runs in each of his eleven outings thus far this season and he’s only been the winning pitcher thrice.
Up Next: The Rangers will try to end their string of terrible away baseball with RHP Jacob deGrom on the mound opposite LHP Mitchell Parker for Washington.
The Saturday afternoon first pitch from the nation’s capital is scheduled for 3:05 pm CT and the game will be telecast via the Rangers Sports Network.
