Kyle Higashioka has been placed on the injured list with an intercoistal strain
Catcher Kyle Higashioka has been placed on the 10 day injured list with a mild left intercoistal strain, the team announced today. The Rangers have called up pitcher Caleb Boushley to take his place on the active roster.
The Rangers added catcher Tucker Barnhart yesterday due to Higashioka being unavailable, with Dane Dunning being designated for assignment to make room for Barnhart. Apparently Higashioka will miss at least a few more days, and so the injured list move has been made.
Boushley pitched yesterday for Round Rock, so he won’t be available for a day or two. He presumably takes over for Dunning as the team’s long man.
