Saturday’s hot minor league action
Alejandro Rosario started for Down East and gave up two runs in 3.2 IP, striking out six and walking one. Wilian Bormie allowed a run on a solo home run in four innings, striking out three and walking four.
Echedry Vargas had a double for the only hit of the day for Down East.
Winston Santos threw 6.1 IP for Hickory, allowing three runs, striking out seven, walking one and allowing a home run.
Alejandro Osuna was 2 for 4. Yeison Morrobel had a hit.
Frisco starter Emiliano Teodo allowed one hit in five shutout innings, striking out four and walking three. Robby Ahlstrom walked three and struck out two in two shutout innings.
Aaron Zavala was 3 for 5 with a homer and a stolen base. Cody Freeman was 2 for 5 with a homer and a stolen base.
For Round Rock, Grant Anderson allowed a run in an inning of work, walking two.
Jonathan Ornelas was 2 for 4. Blaine Crim and Dustin Harris each had a hit apiece.
Thomas Ireland started for the ACL squad, allowing one run in three innings, striking out five and walking two. Former Rangers outfielder turned pitcher D.J. Peters threw two scoreless innings, striking out four.
Braylin Morel was 3 for 3 with a double, a triple and two walks. Pablo Guerrero was 3 for 5. Yeremi Cabrera was 2 for 3 with two walks, a homer, and two stolen bases. Esteban Mejia was 3 for 5 with a homer
