Some good results from several prospects in today’s minor league action
Mason Englert returned from his sticky foreign substance suspension and went five innings for the Ducks, allowing three runs on four hits. He struck out nine and didn’t walk anyone.
Thomas Saggese had a double and a walk. Luisangel Acuna had two walks. Dustin Harris had two singles and a triple. Evan Carter drew a walk, of course.
Grant Wolfram started for Hickory and went five shutout innings, striking out nine. Jonathan Ornelas had a single and a double, David Garcia had a double, and Kellen a Strahm had a pair of hits.
A.J. Alexy started for the Frisco Roughriders and continued his terrific early season performance. Alexy threw three shutout innings, allowing three hits and two walks, striking out three. He now has a 0.93 ERA on the season.
Blake Bass threw a scoreless inning, striking out one. Ronny Henriquez made his AA debut and gave up four runs on five hits, including two home runs, in three innings of work, striking out two. Fernery Ozuna had two Ks in a scoreless inning of work. Joe Gatto threw a scoreless ninth.
Josh Stowers had three walks and a homer. J.P. Martinez had two walks and a single. Ryan Dorow and Anderson Tejeda each doubled. Matt Whatley had three walks.
Ryder Ryan gave up a run on three hits with a K while pitching the ninth in the Round Rock win. Leody Taveras went 2 for 4 with a walk and a homer. Andy Ibanez had a single, two doubles and a triple. Carl Chester and Yohel Pozo each had two hits. Curtis Terry had a hit and a walk.
