It’s a minor league extravaganza
Down East rolled out Mason Englert, and Englert was terrific, throwing five shutout innings, striking out five, walking one and allowing one hit.
Jayce Easley went two for four with a homer and a walk. Thomas Saggese had a single, a triple and a stolen base. Luisangel Acuna had a single and a stolen base. Angel Aponte and Keithron Moss each had a hit and a stolen base. Daniel Mateo had a pair of hits.
Avery Weems started for Hickory. Weems went 6.2 innings, allowing one run on a solo home run, with one walk and six Ks. Nic Laio had a nightmare outing, allowing 10 runs in 1.2 IP.
Josh Smith had a single and a homer. Ezequiel Duran homered. Justin Foscue had a single, a double and a walk. Dustin Harris was 3 for 5 with a walk. David Garcia was 2 for 4 with a walk.
Cole Winn has had a terrific season for Frisco, and on Friday night he had one of his best outings of the year. Winn threw 5.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out eight.
Blaine Crim had a homer and a walk. Bubba Thompson had a hit.
A.J. Alexy made his AAA debut for Round Rock. He allowed three runs in 4.2 IP on four hits (two home runs) and three walks, striking out seven. Joe Gatto went 2.1 scoreless innings, striking out four and walking two. Jacob Lemoine threw two shutout innings.
Leody Taveras homered. Steele Walker had a hit. Yohel Pozo had a single and a double.
The ACL Rangers finished a suspended game before playing their regularly scheduled game. In the first game, Owen White pitched two shutout innings, striking out two. Josy Galan went 3 for 4 with a homer. Junior Paniagua had a hit and a walk. Efrenyer Narvaez went two for four.
In the second game, Nick Lockhart gave up six runs in three innings, striking out five and walking one. Dylan MacLean threw a scoreless inning, walking one and striking out three. Ian Moller, Zion Bannister and Antonio Cabello all had hits.
