Kennedi Landry writes that the Texas Rangers shipped Nathaniel Lowe to DC yesterday for lefty reliever Robert Garcia.
Jeff Wilson writes that the Rangers decided to shed Lowe’s salary after bringing in Jake Burger as a potential first base replacement.
Evan Grant writes that by trading Lowe, the Rangers were perhaps signaling additional moves with their savings.
And, indeed, this morning, word came down that the Rangers are signing left-handed DH slugger Joc Pederson to a two-year deal, with the second year being a player option, to essentially replace Lowe’s bat in the lineup.
